Sequel to the curfew imposed in some states, especially Osun State to return calmness after nationwide #ENDSARS protest, the national leadership of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) has postponed the upcoming 93rd Annual National Conference to a week’ s time, which is now 9-14 November.

Announcing the new date for the conference through a release made available to Pharmanewsonline Monday night, the PSN President, Pharm. (Mazi) Sam Ohuabunwa expressed the concerns of stakeholders over the possibility of holding the conference with the present situation in the host state, Osun.

According to him: “After extensive reviews and consultations with many stakeholders especially the host branch, the LOC and the CPC, our exhibitors and critical leaders of our Society, we have come to the following conclusions:

• “The current curfew in Osun State will be lifted any time soon, certainly this week.

• “The current curfew in many other states are being relaxed and we are assured that all States will fully lift all curfews this week.

• “No one can fully guarantee what may happen in the months ahead

“Given this scenario, and relying on the doctrine of necessity we have decided to move the date of the conference to 9-14 November 2020 (one week extension)”.

Acknowledging the inconveniences the slight adjustment might have created for members, Ohuabunwa noted that it became inevitable to do so as he prayed for full restoration of peace in every part of the country.
